Site Plot/Settings:
Non-humans and magic have always existed on Earth, but never has there been such a large dimension disturbance.
Earth, 2012, Dec 21st. A portal between worlds opens up. A medieval world on the brink of destruction. Refugees pour into every Earth continent. Various governments keep them under lock and key, until they can decide what to do with them. Various inter-dimensional disturbances change the landscape...forests spring up in strange places, mountain ranges grow larger, dragons and demons escape into the land.
Los Angeles, 2024: Elen Galad refugees are settling into their new home with government allowances. Many shun technology. Some live in medieval villages outside the city, others try to integrate into human society. Dragons find employment and become part of society while the government continues to cover up the existence of magic and 'abnormal' creatures. Demons, monsters and wild dragons hunt the forests outside Los Angeles, and only air travel is safe. Yet the world goes on, and humans stubbornly cling to their ideals and their lives.

Elen Galad Handbook (3 sub-boards) This is information which relates to the Setting/Universe, and the rules. Rules: Please read the rules. The rules are mostly common sense, but you MUST read them! City Centre (1 sub-board) This is the main shopping area and probably one of the busiest. Supermarkets, shopping malls, small businesses, dining areas, cafes, etc. You may request a business in the request board. Moderators: Evil Trio, James Farrell, Aleria Lynn Farrell, Xander Harris
Nightlife Clubs, pubs, restaurants, strip clubs, theatre, music concerts, etc. Many clubs are owned by millionaire drug dealers. One of these is a famous dragon who frequents his human form. Marketplaces Medieval and otherwise - the marketplaces are very busy. Often the medieval refugees from Elen Galad, and others who enjoy their wares can be found in narrow streets selling things. It is hard to get a car down these streets, so it is a walk only zone. Other than the legal markets, there are marketplaces which are much more hidden. Alleyways and Streets The darker, scummier parts of town. The sewers, the alleyways, empty warehouses, anywhere petty crime and lowlife gangs might operate, or where creatures may hunt in the shadows. These are favoured hunting places for shadow demons, vampires, man-eating shape-shifters and lowlife demons. The higher up, richer criminals enjoy hiring lowlifes with promises and manipulation. Housing (1 sub-board) Apartments, housing, townhouses in the city. You may request housing or an apartment in the request board. Suburban housing goes in the Suburb board. Many refugees from Elen Galad are given basic townhouses and apartments while they get a start on life. Because they have been around for 12 years, many are living in their own houses and have their own jobs. Others have left the city to start their own villages, funded by the government. Parks, Beaches, Cliffs, Cemetaries etc Los Angeles is home to beautiful beaches, nice cliffs and plenty of parks to walk the dog or go for a moonlit walk. Many of the parks have patches of forests. Beware, because there are demons and other creatures which lurk here. The cemeteries are a little creepy, but for some predators, they are too obvious to hang out in. There are much stupider creatures who enjoy these spots. Beware of sea serpents. Their meat is rather delicious, if you’re foolish enough to go out and hunt them. It sells so well, that there are those who hunt them for a living. They mostly lurk in the outer waters, not the beach areas. Sometimes, a couple come too far in... Government Facilities and Privately-Owned Facilities (1 sub-board) CIA, NSA, FBI, military, homeland security, underground labs, you name it. Some are also privately owned and affiliated with the government, or not at all affiliated. There are facilities for people with magic, for dangerous dragons and for demons as well as other supernatural creatures. Another government operation which started operating before the events of 2012 polices non-humans and does so very strictly. They also employ non-humans. There are also labs which do testing on people. Not always humane. All refugees from Elen Galad were processed and kept in detention centres before being released and given homes. Suburbs There are still large suburbs on the outskirts of the city and around the city centre. A person can live the American dream in their nice big suburban house...or perhaps in a huge mansion, guarded by a costly dragon. Outer Villages Many villages have sprouted up in the prairies and grasslands outside Los Angeles. A lot of these prairies and grasslands are new since the event occurred and destroyed a lot of land. These villages are mostly medieval, and are still growing in size and populations, though people are starting to attempt to use technology. A few cars may be seen, as well as mobile phones and the odd television set. Mostly, these people try to retain their identity and a lot of them reject technology. Some villages are walled and heavily guarded though the government sends people to check every so often. They are required to pay for land and taxes like everybody else. Forests Many forests have sprung up around Los Angeles in record time. The trees and plants seem normal enough despite the strangeness. It is thought that they came from Elen Galad, since many of the species are new. These forests are far too dangerous to travel by car, horse, or on foot, unless you are either very brave, very stupid, or a creature with enough strength and smarts to outwit the monsters. Large animals, a few forest dragons and plenty of thieves and such inhabit the forests. Some people do have homes within the forest, and generally have a good idea of how to survive. Mountain Ranges The mountains around Los Angeles have become much bigger, taller, and many have permanent mist surrounding them. There are even a couple of active volcanoes but they present little threat to the city ... for the moment. Dragons who don’t wish to live in the city inhabit the mountain ranges at the back of the city. The ranges are dangerous and like the forests, are filled with wild animals. Some dragons are nasty creatures and will kill anything in their hunting ranges. It is foolhardy to attempt to go around here via helicopter without a dragon escort. Other Areas Other cities, other countries, areas not mentioned above, all go here. Most cities are fairly similar to Los Angeles with their policies, though not all are quite as accepting towards dragons and people from the other world. Alternate Dimensions, Planets and Universes
Alternate or Parallel Dimensions (Misc) This is for any random dimension. Perhaps its similar to this dimension but with a few small differences. Remember that many dimensions are leaking into others, and there may be plenty of easy ways or accidental ways to fall into an alternate dimension. Real World (5 sub-boards) The real world - where you and I exist, where your character models exist. Sometimes this world does mix a little with the other world. Very rarely, but it does happen. This is where you can have a bit of 'what if' fun. Remember that if you play as yourself, keep details like full name, address, school/college etc ambiguous or change them.
